SHIFT+Command+4 – then spacebar, there is camera icon, use this camera to capture windows

Zoom Screen
OPTION+Command+8, then use + / - to zoom in or zoom out

Use two fingers on the touchpad and click CTRL and move it as the screen zoom in and out

Force Quit: Command+Option+Esc

Logout: SHIFT+Command+Q

Right Click: CTRL+Click

Multiple language input begins in the system preferences. Selection under the N flag.
Add languages, space bar activates.
 
We can start to find some application using Spotlight by pressing Command+Spacebar

Parental Controls-to use outside the home, in schools, requires an Apple server running in the background. Can really limit child's access. If a school went with an apple lab, having an apple server would really help with this function.

Schools need an accepable use policy to guide machine's useage.

Guest Account
New in Leopard. Great for public access computers. User account resets after log out, so nothing gets stored in the account, in other words, everything in the account gets erased when the user finishes the session. Next person can use it as if nobody else has been using it.

New software for recording videos following the mouse and actions. It records the audio and the mouse moving around the screen. $100. Pretty cool stuff if you are teaching procedures on screen. Vara Software Company. Shift command 2 stops ScreenFlow from recording.

PhotoBooth software you can put yourself in front of a pre recorded image. The 'voiceover' is done in front of a 'blue' screen.

Creating Podcast can be different ways:
Keynote – for audio recording only
GarageBand – music creator, more complicated and for audio recording only
Screenflow – dual video
SHIFT+Command+2 will stop recording

Tips for doing a podcast:
1.  test audio, and test again!
-   run through with just a few slides first, export and check your audio volume
2.  use external microphones whenever possible
-   nothing beats custom, professional microphones
3.  test your transitions, especially if you are using powerpoint slides - be comfortable before you begin
4.  find a quiet room, especially if you do this in school. ringing of school bells can be a real pain :-)
